Service is also provided to the elderly and persons with disabling conditions to foster independent living.

Their Case Manager works with the individual or family and the referring social worker to assess the need for services, and to develop a plan for the Homemaker to follow, such as -

  • Teach parents to care for children, to discipline properly and set limits
  • Demonstrate how to plan, organize, care for a home and provide nutritious meals on a limited income
  • Assist parents with household tasks which are essential to a safe and healthy home
  • Perform home care, shopping or cooking when an individual's age or physical limitations prohibit such activities
