Marine Drive Chicago, Illinois 60640-4220 The Salvation Army counseling programs assist in helping people better understand themselves and support the development of effective tools for living. The Counseling Program offers a holistic approach which encompass the following life stage and/or crisis areas:
Through their Homemaker Program, families who live in the City of Chicago are offered service to enhance parental functioning, to reduce stress, and to prevent child abuse and neglect which can lead to family breakdown. Service is also provided to the elderly and persons with disabling conditions to foster independent living. Their Case Manager works with the individual or family and the referring social worker to assess the need for services, and to develop a plan for the Homemaker to follow, such as -

(Truck pick-up) Can be arranged for donations. A participating sponsor of Barrington Giving Day where people can refer someone needy to be invited. They receive a toy, warm clothing and basket of food, run by volunteers. Salvation Army, Evanston Food vouchers (redeemable at Jewel on Chicago Avenue), canned goods and clothing vouchers for the needy. Also Christian counseling, rent and utilities assistance (when funds are available), and substance abuse counseling. |
