LOSS offers a safe, non-judgmental place where group members are assisted throughout the grieving process.

The support and understanding of trained social workers coupled with the knowledge and first-hand experience of veteran LOSS members help survivors to realize that they are not alone; that they are not losing their minds; and that they will not feel this deep, intense sadness for the rest of their lives.

LOSS offers 8 monthly support groups throughout Cook and Lake County (one group is Spanish Speaking); Weekly groups for the newly bereaved (or members who are new to the program) in 10-week sessions; Individual and Family Counseling; and a monthly newsletter.

LOSS tries to help survivors of suicide by providing a warm, nurturing network of other survivors; educating members and the community about the grieving process when a loved one dies by suicide; we emphasize that life will be joyful again-never the same, but worth living and we offer hope and strength to survivors.
