The Ameican Chronic Pain Association is a not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1980. The ACPA provides a support system for those who live in chronic pain. Their self help group model is based on coming together and sharing experiences in groups. People who suffer from chronic pain have experiences that are unique to themselves and normal. We provide the setting for recovery and tools with which to cope by setting realistic goals and recognizing one's own limitation. Our goal is to convey a positive attitude and to enhance and improve the quality of our lives and accept responsibility for our recovery.
